With no internal frame, the Favela chair is made from numerous pine pieces that are nailed together by hand, in a random arrangement that makes each chair produced different. Seemingly simple, the chair is actually the result of a week’s work and a great deal of manual expertise.<\/p>\n

The Campana brothers are contemporary Brazilian designers. In 1969, they co-founded Estudio Campana, which became known for its intriguing pieces, such as the Vermelha (1991) and Favela (1993) chairs. In 1998, Estudio Campana presented its first international exhibition with German designer Ingo Maurer, “Project 66″, held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Today, the Campana brothers are active in the fields of design, architecture, scenography and fashion.<\/p>\n
